All About TTDA

The Dance Academy was first established in January 2005 by local parents that wanted a fun place for their children to dance. From 10th October 2015 many changes happened and the dance school name was changed to Team Troupers Dance Academy. In October 2017 Team Troupers Dance Academy CIC took over the New Parks Community Centre and we finally have our own dance Studios offering dance classes for the whole community.

Our Dance Academy prides its self in being a Community Dance Academy offering all children the opportunity to discover dance in a friendly and fun environment.Team Troupers is a safe friendly place where each and every student is treated with respect, where everlasting friendships blossom and finally a place where the love of dance is caught through inspiration as well as taught with care and sensitivity. We offer sessions to all regardless of age or previous experience.

Behaviour Policy

We believe that good behaviour is essential to creating an environment where individuals are valued and respected. We also believe that postive behaviour is essential in creating an environment conductive to learning.

We believe that children respond best to praise and encouragement. We try to find every opportunity to praise children when they are showing appropriate behaviour. Our emphasis is on rewards to reinforce good behaviour, rather than focus on negative behaviours.

Whilst we aim to encourage positive behaviour in all children, we acknowledge that there will be times that we have to deal with behaviours that are unacceptable, it is vitally important that we deal with any unaccaptable behaviour in an agreed and consistent way, when dealing with unacceptable behaviour, we acknowledge that the response will depend on the severity of the incident.

Most behaviours are dealt with on the spot, with the child being reminded about our expectations and agreed code of conduct, We will always explain why the behaviour is unacceptable and give the child an opportunity to respond and be listened to.

Each member of staff has had training on dealing with unwanted behaviours and understands our behaviour stategies. ( See our Behaviour Policy for more details)
